Not Home
Not Home was a game from one of the Global Game Jam I took part in. My team and I decided to not focus on designing a game engine from scratch and code every feature. Instead, we decided because of the time limitation we would use Unity as our primary game engine and focus more on developing an environment for the player to have fun with.
Because of the decision to focus on the environment, we spent more time making audio and lighting triggers and adding more features we thought would add to the fear of the game and pull the player in deeper.
The core gameplay Idea was based on the word “Home”. Our idea was to design a horror game about a child left alone in a house trying to calm their own nerves to survive the night.
